I realized when I went home that night after lunch with my editor that I had written this very personal novel about my conflicted feelings about motherhood and being a woman in this mid-life stage, and I wrote it in the privacy of my little cubicle at the writer’s space, and I had revealed all of my flaws and insecurities and fears and now it’s going public! And I was like ‘Oh my god…’

JULIA FIERRO’s debut novel, Cutting Teeth, was a Library Journal “Spring Best Debut” and on “Most Anticipated” lists by HuffPost Books, The Millions, Flavorwire and Marie Claire. Julia’s work has been published, or is forthcoming, in Poets & Writers, Glamour and other publications, and she has been profiled in The Observer and The Economist. A graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, she founded Sackett Street Writers’ Workshop, home to 2500 writers.
