I realized when I went home that night after lunch with my editor that I had written this very personal novel about my conflicted feelings about motherhood and being a woman in this mid-life stage, and I wrote it in the privacy of my little cubicle at the writer’s space, and I had revealed all of my flaws and insecurities and fears and now it’s going public! And I was like ‘Oh my god…’
